How I work
In this video, I explain how I approach test preparation and how I plan each student's sessions.
Who I help
I take a limited number of students each season. Most fit one of these descriptions.
SAT and ACT students
SSAT and ISEE applicants
Anxiety and executive function challenges
High achievers seeking top scores
Students needing confidence and structure
The difference
How my program differs from tutoring centers and online courses.
Each student gets a plan built around how they learn.
I adjust the plan each week based on practice test results and how the student is doing.
I address test anxiety directly, as part of the preparation.
Sessions are scheduled around your student's school and activities.
I have taught the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE for more than 25 years.
Students build skills gradually, so the gains hold up on test day.
The process
Four steps, from the first call to test day.
A call where I learn about your student and recommend next steps.
A baseline assessment and a written plan with clear targets.
Weekly one-to-one sessions, with homework tailored to your student.
Timed practice tests and review in the weeks before the exam.
Headshot of Dr. Kelly
Meet Dr. Kelly
I started this program because I believe test preparation should build a student's confidence. I work with every student myself, and each plan is built around what that student needs.
From the families I work with
A few notes from families I have worked with.
Our son was awarded a scholarship, based upon his standardized test scores, offsetting the tuition that my husband and I will pay for a four-year, private university.
Martha Fitzwater Pigott · Parent
Her consistent teaching with the material and test strategies, knowledge of the testing process and schedules, and positive outlook helped our children gain so much confidence going into testing.
Margo Lee, PhD · Parent
She never makes me feel "slow" or "stupid" rather it is a process in which I learn from my mistakes and feel good doing that.
Parker P. · Student, age 17
