About the program

Who do you work with?

I work with high school students preparing for the SAT or ACT and middle school students preparing for the SSAT or ISEE. I have particular experience with anxious students, high achievers who put a lot of pressure on themselves, and students with executive function or learning differences.

How is this different from a traditional tutoring service?

This is a solo program. I run the diagnostic, design the curriculum, teach every session, and review every practice test myself. The student works directly with me from beginning to end.

I also do not use a fixed lesson order. Each plan is built around the individual student.

Do you work in person or online?

I work with all students online, with families across the United States and internationally. Students join from home and get the same one-to-one attention they would in person.

How many students do you take at a time?

I keep my student list small so each student gets enough of my time. I recommend reaching out a few months before your student's test date.

Structure and timeline

How long does a typical engagement last?

Most families work with me over three to six months. It depends on the student's starting point and test date. I recommend a schedule during the strategy session.

How often do sessions occur?

Sessions are typically weekly. Closer to test day, sessions often become more frequent, with timed practice tests and longer reviews.

What does a session look like?

Sessions are one-to-one and live, conducted over video. I go over the week's homework with the student and then teach the skills that need attention.

Is there homework between sessions?

Yes. Custom homework is assigned each week through the student dashboard, matched to the student's pace. I review it in the next session and use it to plan the following week.

What if my student's schedule changes mid-engagement?

Families can reschedule sessions or pause briefly during school exams.

Methodology and outcomes

How do you handle students with test anxiety?

Many of my students deal with test anxiety, so I treat it as part of what I teach. Students rehearse pacing so test day feels familiar, and I talk with them openly about the pressure they feel.

Do you work with neurodivergent students?

Yes, regularly. Students with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning profiles do well with individualized preparation. I adjust the pacing and materials to fit how each student learns.

I am also comfortable advising on accommodations such as extended time, where appropriate, though I do not handle the application process for accommodations directly.

How much score improvement is typical?

It depends on the student's starting point, how much time they have, and the effort they put in. I do not promise specific point gains, because every student is different.

Students who do the work usually improve, often by a lot.

Do you guarantee score improvements?

No, and I would be skeptical of any program that does. What I can promise is a careful diagnostic and a plan built for your student.

Logistics and pricing

How much does the program cost?

Pricing depends on the program and the number of sessions. I go over it during the strategy session, once I know what your student needs.

Payment plans are available.

How do I get started?

Schedule a free, no-obligation Strategies for Success call to begin the process. You can book it on the scheduling page.

What technology will my student need?

A reliable computer, a webcam, and a quiet space. Students find their homework and practice tests on a private dashboard I provide. I will walk you through the platform during onboarding.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
